Leather and Fur

Two trends that you should try for the fall and winter are: Leather and Fur. There is something about a grungy leather jacket that you can throw on with a frilly dress or jeans and it makes it seem much cooler.

Fur is also very cool, whether you have a fur vest you wear with skinny jeans and boots, or a vest you wear over a dress... fur is cute and makes a statement. You can also try fur in a more subtle way with a fur accent on a jacket or a touch of fur on a purse or pair of shoes. Try it, you will turn heads!

A few things we have in the store:

Leg Warmers

This trend started in the 80s and like always, we see trends trickle back through the years. Leg warmers-are back!

You might be scared to give them a try, but trust me, they are more toned down than the ones you saw in the 80s. We aren't talking about pink, blue or yellow leg warmers; try a black pair with booties or a tan pair with heels.

At ellie boutique, we have a pair of black leg warmers that are knit, and made by Tulle. They are just enough of fashion meets comfort without being over the top. Give them a try!

Military Meets Runway

We’re seeing it everywhere. It started on the runways and has now trickled down to celebrities and fashionistas everywhere. The military trend is here in a big way. The best thing about the trend is how easy it is to incorporate style details into your already fabulous wardrobe. You can go subtle with a military detail on the cuff of a classic trench or, take the trend a little further and carry a military inspired clutch or bag.

Of course, you can always embrace the trend fully and wear a fabulous military coat or shirt dress. If you do fully embrace the trend, there are many style options available.

If your style is more edgy, try a military shirt dress with black jeggings and booties. This look is super chic and a more literal translation of the trend.

If you go for a more classic look, a tweed jacket with military hardware would be suited for you. Pair it with an ultra-feminine lace top and heels for a great out on the town look.

For a more casual take on the trend, try a sweater with military details. Put it over a simple turtleneck with skinny jeans and boots and you have the perfect look for classes or shopping on the weekend.

Whatever your style taste may be, it is easy to bring military style into your wardrobe. Just remember to have fun with the trend and wear what makes you comfortable. Follow these guidelines and you will always look fabulous!

leopard && lace .

Expect to see spots this fall. The bold leopard print is back, now more than ever. Don't be afraid to make a statement. At Ellie you can make a subtle statement with a simple, fun animal print scarf. Leopard flats are all the rave this season and can instantly spice up an outfit. If you indulge in one piece, one must have to keep you warm this fall - the leopard trench. A trench is always classic, and the spots add so much more.
When I think ultra feminine, I think lace. It is essential to have some lace in your wardrobe for those soft, girlish days. Lace is very easy to wear, clean and simple.
Leopard + lace are the stylish duo that can effortlessly enhance your ensemble.
Check out what leopard + lace items we have to offer at Ellie. This months Harper's Bazaar includes an editorial featuring both the hot trends. Of course, top designers caught on to the fashion long before we did: peek at a few Dolce & Gabbana runway scenes.
